‘Lost in Shanghai’ Brunch at Hakkasan Hanway Place with Rock Angel
There aren’t many other ways to describe the feeling of walking through Hakkasan’s heavy doors other than pure excitement. It was the same the first time I visited around 13 years ago and twice since. The atmosphere is fun and as for the food: this is a masterclass in culinary excellence. It really is quite special.
Granted, it can easily be an expensive (but obviously delicious) meal so understandably some save it for a very special occasion. But, the brilliant thing is they have several activations throughout the year, including concept menus and brunches at set prices.

For Spring, the ‘Lost in Shanghai’ brunch series in partnership with Rock Angel rosé, is a celebration of elegance and energy. The menu is set at £128 per person and includes a signature martini cocktail on arrival (there’s something for everyone’s palate: Lychee (tangy), Cold Brew (revitalising) or Pornstar (sweet). After that, there’s a special bottle of Rock Angel, Château d’Esclans (per person may we add)) to be enjoyed with three delicious courses. For those that can’t resist the signature Peking duck, for an additional fee, you can upgrade your brunch too (£130).
There are two more brunch sessions (Saturday 27th April and Saturday 25th May)—you really don’t want to miss out.
To note: For April—Autism Awareness Month—Hakkasan and Yauatcha (both from the Tao Group Hospitality) have introduced a limited-edition cocktail and dessert with 10% of profits of each item sold going to Child Autism UK.
This week we're shopping:
We're big fans of Repossi here at MC HQ. The pieces are timeless, chic and the ultimate investment pieces. The Serti Sur Vide collection (first launched in 2014) is a celebration of floating stones—the emerald appears to be 'floating' once worn.
To mark their 110th anniversary, Antler have launched their Icons collection, introducing three new and distinct silhouettes: the Icon Stripe suitcase (including the biggest carry-on ever), the Soft Stripe suitcase and Discovery backpack.
Boost your mood with Crystal Haze's summer 2024 collections, full of colourful and meaningful pieces including this Dua necklace, symbolising love and featuring malachite, jade and red carnelian, natural stones which signify transformation, abundance and energy respectively.
The latest iteration of the collaboration - which celebrates Cambridge Satchel's 15th anniversary and Hello Kitty's 50th - marries the Japanese brand's fun designs with Cambridge Satchel's classic hero designs. Prices range from £45 to £285.
Introducing your new season must have, whether you're heading to a dance workout or for drinks with friends. The iconic Dance Studio Pant has been re-imagined with ultra-relaxed silhouettes and cargo details.
Previously available in navy and red, Wiggy Kit's sell-out dress is back for Spring/Summer 2024 in gorgeous pink.
Rouje's founder Jeanne Damas has always loved the iconic basket bag, so this latest collaboration with Dragon Diffusion, the label behind the iconic hand-woven bag.
Whilst the upper case styling of its name may seem like a flippant stylistic choice, this product really is super in every sense of the word. I’ve been using it now for over a month and not only is it looking more plump and less dull, but my skin's hydration level feels dramatically increased—even after I’ve consumed one (or several) vodka martinis. It’s definitely on the pricey side, but a little does go a long way. And, the glow, speaks for itself.
I’ve been a big fan and supporter of Haeckels from day one. From the packaging to truly efficacious formulas and a truly industry-leading approach to sustainability, I just love everything to do with the brand.
The Algae Plump Serum which contains Hyaluronic Acid, Bladderwrack and Niacinamide, adds a much-needed dose of moisture and hydration that leaves skin looking plump and feeling firmer. Get into it!
The Miracle Balm has been in our arsenal since its inception. Now, there are two new colours to play with. Cocoa Bronze is a deeper and slightly more golden bronze (and great for medium to deep skin tones) whilst Pinched Cheeks is rosy with a touch of shimmer (great for all skin tones).
We love the Advanced Therapy Lip range from fresh and the latest added, a handy lip ointment, that banishes dry flaky lips after just one application. Just divine.
Fashion lovers, this one is for you. Head to Mytheresa to explore the exclusive capsule collection with super cool Parisian Courréges. The 17 piece collection is full of the brand's DNA: think clean lines, contemporary shapes and clothes that make you feel good—and look incredible.
Nicolas Di Felice, Artistic Director of Courrèges, comments: “This exclusive collection embodies the classical Courrèges wardrobe; with pieces that express the result of a constant dialogue between the House’s heritage and the Courrèges Woman of today.”
It’s no secret: we are obsessed with FRAME at Marie Claire. The brand just gets it right, every single time. This season, they’ve chosen Amelia Gray—fashion darling—as the face. Everything about the campaign is cool: it was lensed by Erik Torstensson, shot in the iconic Chateau Marmont and features Gray, draped in super covetable denim. J’adore.
Signature Script by way of Savage x Fenty is here. The first core collection of the year centres around 6 wearable pieces in four different colour ways. Happy shopping.
The new collection - and the campaign - are inspired by fervent Dior custome: Marlene Dietrich and her iconic, unrivalled elegance. As a result, Maria Grazia Chiuri's designs embodying the eternal presence and masculine-feminine style of the actress, shot by American artist and photographer Collier Schorr for the campaign.
Introducing Chanel's new campaign, featuring Penélope Cruz and Brad Pitt. Virginie Viard was inspired by cinematographer Claude Lelouche. In the short film and campaign, Penélope Cruz's hand tightens on her bag, instantly identifiable with its perfect silhouette, modern and rectangular. The bag we see in Claude Lelouch's film was actually Anouk Aimée's own bag, her favourite one, which she wore both on and off screen.
This campaign photographed and directed by Inez & Vinoodh repeats almost word for word, shot by shot, some of the film's original sequence.
Leandra Medine Cohen and Soeur collaborate again on a new collection that embodies urban elegance, that resonates with the fast-paced life that the founder of Café Leandra leads in New York City.
Lightness and transparency float throughout the capsule, from a slit organza skirt to a layerable mini dress, a jersey tank top to a finely ribbed polo. In tones of grey and yellow, the pieces are as feminine as they are offbeat.
In a strategic move, fashion rental platform CLOAN has partnered with social rental app By Rotation to act as their official digital partner to offer their extensive edit of items to the By Rotation community and beyond.
RIXO has launched a brand-new true occasion category, RIXO GOLD, as part of their SS24 collection. RIXO GOLD’s emphasis is on elevated fabrics, fits and longer lengths, which clearly differentiate the GOLD collection from the main range.

Founded by Kylie Jenner, KHY is full of simple elevated wardrobe staples, and for the next two weeks, you can now shop the pieces IRL at everyone's favourite yellow store, Selfridges.
If there’s one thing we love about Selfridges, it's that it continues to have one of the most exciting curation of brands in London. “We're thrilled to announce the arrival of KHY by Kylie Jenner exclusively at Selfridges in London as we continue our relationship with Kylie Jenner,” said Bosse Myhr, Buying Director of Menswear, Womenswear & Childrenswear at Selfridges. “We look forward to our customers exploring the progressive designs and elegantly curated collections.”

We’re obsessed with Loewe’s Flamenco bag. Jonathan Anderson reimagined the bag (first launched in the 80’s) for his SS24 collection for the label. It comes in several colour ways including black and mustard, but it’s the burgundy that we’re particularly enamoured with. A future icon, we’re adding the Flamenco to our 2024 Wishlist.
We first saw this piece on the Erdem SS24 runway. Inspired by Deborah Mitford and Chatsworth House, it opened the show. We love Erdem’s beautiful reworking of a Barbour waxed coat with its antique floral prints and juxtaposition of practicality and gothic glamour.
Head to London’s New Bond Street this weekend and step into the world of DSQUARED2. The new flagship store draws inspiration from the 50s and is a space where contemporary finishes, plush carpeting, mirrored surfaces and refined wood meet heavy industrial elements. It’s the perfect backdrop for a contemporary and fashion-forward collection of ready to wear and accessories.
There’s a reason this is the number one selling product from this brand—it actually works. I’ve been using this serum for a few weeks and have already noticed a difference. The lightweight formula soaks into the skin, leaving it feeling and looking plump and hydrated. Everything in 47Skin contains the patent Silver Chitoderm™ which has been known to ease the appearance of blemishes whilst keeping skin hydrated.
I’ve had a busy few months: we’re just on the back of a killer fashion season, heading from London to Paris via Milan; we had our Marie Claire Prix Awards; and, I did the graveyard shift for the Oscars all whilst attempting to have an actual life seeing friends and family, so let’s just say, I’m tired. Despite the ungodly levels of exhaustion, I usually have trouble sleeping—hello Cortisol spike—but, I’ve recently introduced these night drops from Dream Distillery and things are looking up.
I usually find that CBD products, despite their many claims, don’t actually seem to do anything for me. That was until I tried Dream Distillery, of course. These night drops are seriously a game changer: they help me relax and help regulate my sleep—plus they taste good too. Yes, it’s not cheap but IMHO you can’t really put a price on the promise of sleep during those hectic moments in life. Do yourself a favour and get into these.
If you’re after skincare tailored to your skin's specific needs, then you might want to consider Opalore. It’s all about long-term results and products that boost the amount of good bacteria in your skin.
We LOVE the stories behind a creation here at MC. We’re taking a moment to appreciate the craftsmanship and sheer beauty of the 2024 Swarovski Tiara. Designed by Global Creative Director Giovanna Engelbert, the piece is inspired by Austrian imperial jewellery and Swarovski’s Mesmera jewellery family.
The way the light bounces off every single crystal (there are 233 in total) will indicate the meticulous attention to detail that has gone into its creation.
Explore the full Mesmera range which includes everything from pendant necklaces, rings and timeless earrings (we’re obsessed with the Mesmera bar earrings, £79).
We’re big advocates of Modibodi at MC: the brand creates incredible period protection underwear. Their latest range is in collaboration with Puma and offers stylish options including shorts, thongs and leggings.
Always dreamed of delving into Ellie Goulding's wardrobe? You're in luck. The award-winning singer-songwriter and sustainable fashion advocate has listed her wardrobe on By Rotation. Ellie Goulding shares: "I’m delighted to list some beautiful pieces on By Rotation. I am passionate about getting as much wear as possible out of my clothes. It weighs heavily on all of us that fashion has such a huge environmental footprint, in terms of both resource use and emissions. As a UN environment ambassador I’m always on the lookout for ways we can break away from wasteful systems that trash the planet. To rent and recirculate fashion in this way is revolutionary, and also quite joyful. It’s an example where less equals more!”

I’m a sucker for fragrance and I was lucky enough to have a preview of this scent some months ago. Honestly, I haven’t been able to get it out of my head. Filthy Rose...I'm hooked.
Imagine vibrant and blooming roses in all their glory with their floral powdery petals and the greenness of the buds. There’s smokiness from the tobacco, balminess from the Amyris (a truly wonderful ingredient in scent) and just a hint of spice courtesy of black pepper that spikes in the manner of a thorn, an unexpected but pleasant surprise that cuts through any headiness. Look, I could waffle on, but in short, this really smells very good.
The projection of this candle is undeniable: It will fill the entire room and even emit beyond the front doors—seriously, a true story my most recent guests will attest to.
The founders, Lisa Potter Dixon and Lia Briamonte, are two seriously stylish—and colourful—powerhouses, so naturally the candle, housed in heavy leopard print jars, pack serious weight in the style stakes.
Sofia Richie Grainge is the new brand ambassador for TOMMY HILFIGER Womenswear. As part of her role, she will bring a refined vision, natural optimism and taste for accessible luxury.
“Tommy is the godfather of Classic American Cool”, says Sofia. “His designs are the perfect canvas for playing with effortless style and building a wardrobe of timeless pieces. I am excited to co-create over the next years with someone who shares my passion for self-expression, enduring style and originality.”
Creative Director Camilla Freeman-Topper says of the collection, which was inspired by the architectural intricacies of monastic staircases: “The focus of the collection lies on the strength of a
simple and minimal aesthetic that speaks to uncompromising quality. We started with this idea of rising up, the feeling that comes when coming out of a state of tension, always before growth. I wanted to
honour that journey through the strength in the silhouette; classic strong clean lines meet with a sense of relaxed androgyny to showcase a woman in all her power. This collection is a testament to the pursuit of growth in all of us”.
Infused with modern Scandinavian minimalism, the campaign photographed by Steven Meisel, is paying homage to the crisp cottons and sculptural silhouettes that define the brand’s theSS24 collection. Shop the collection now.

Arguably a contender for one of the best perfumes out there. Liberal application of this delicious and herbaceously fragrant scent is encouraged. There’s musk, lemongrass and bergamot, which all give off a balminess and spiciness that is truly captivating. It smells clean and fresh. It’s almost as if you’ve just stepped out of a shower—with skin ever so lightly moist.
We’re celebrating all things denim this month at MC (our editors’ are picking the best jeans and doing try-ons from brands such as Good American) so when we saw the new Jigsaw denim campaign, we just HAD to include it in this month’s Hot List. The campaign shows all the incredible styles they have, including a new denim suit (£120) and front-slit midi skirt (£95), the latter of which was added straight to several editors' baskets.
If you’re in London this weekend, make sure you head straight to Selfridges to check out the new Mejuri pop-up. The pop-up runs until March 17th (you can still buy online until the 21st), get ready to experience all the very best that the brand has to offer: think stackable rings, signets, delicate necklaces and refined hoops that speak of everyday luxury.
Look, I’m aware it sounds ridiculous and I can’t really explain it, but I’m hooked on this toothpaste. Does your toothpaste NEED to be chic, probably not, but it certainly brings a bit of joy twice a day (that’s just in case my hygienist reads the Hot List). There are notes of eucalyptus, juniper, cucumber, lime, peppermint and orange.
I’ve been taking these for a month now and have noticed a difference. Most notably, that dreaded afternoon crash has become non-existent.
