Kate Middleton’s uncle, Gary Goldsmith reveals what makes his niece’s marriage work

In front of the flashbulbs Kate Middleton and Prince William look like the perfect couple, a belief that continued over the weekend when they attended a St Patrick’s Day parade. As the Duchess of Cambridge got her heel stuck in a grate her husband was by her side assisting her as she bent down.

And it appears this tiny act of chivalry isn’t just for the cameras – the couple are just as cute together behind the scenes. Kate Middleton’s uncle, Gary Goldsmith revealed to Hello! that he knew how right they were for each other when he first met William at a dinner.

Gary said: ‘When I saw them together you actually just thought, even if he wasn't going to be the king, they would make a great couple. They were very, very good together.’

But it wasn’t William and Kate together that won Carole Middleton’s brother over, it was the Prince himself who was praised particularly for being ‘very attentive’ towards Kate. ‘He was very relaxed.’ Gary added. ‘He tries very hard to be a real gentlemen. He leaves a massive impact on you.
