Britney's father calls emergency meeting with lawyers
Britney Spears’ father, Jamie, met with lawyers yesterday for an emergency hearing following the singer’s release, 11 days early, from psychiatric care.
Jamie, who has temporary control over Britney’s finances and welfare, and her mother Lynne, are said to be distraught their daughter has been let out early, and last night begged the court to enforce an order aimed at protecting ‘at-risk’ Britney, fearing a ‘tragedy’.
After the court found there was ‘no just cause’ for keeping Britney in the UCLA medical centre, she fled to the Beverly Hills Hotel, where she met up with her paparazzo boyfriend, Adnan Ghalib.
Dad, Jamie, followed her there, and reportedly desperately tried to get her to return for more treatment.
One source said: ‘Britneys dad begged her to go back to hospital. He told her he feared she would die if she didnt get medical help.
‘She said she was so angry that they made her go to hospital. She screamed, “You cant control me.”‘
She eventually agreed to leave, and was smuggled out the back door to her Hollywood Hills home, where she remained in tense discussions with her parents and Adnan, who left at 2.30am.
It is thought that Jamie will move in with Britney at her LA home, if he and Lynne can’t get the troubled star to return with them to Louisiana.
