Britney Spears teams up with Russell Brand for MTV Awards promo
Could Britney Spears be planning to return to the MTV Video Music Awards?
The singer has fuelled speculation that she may appear on stage, after filming a promo for the awards ceremony, with the show’s presenter, Russell Brand.
Starring alongside an elephant, Spears and Brand enact a question and answer session, in which the pop princess repeatedly calls the presenter ‘Russell Brown.’
Playing on the fact that Brand is still relatively unknown in the States, the pair are then joined by LL Cool J and Fall Out Boy star Pete Wentz, who proceed to call the comedian ‘Russell Bland’.
The TV spot sees Britney in a return to form, looking sleek in a little black dress. The singer notoriously opened the awards show last year, with a disastrous performance of her single, Gimme More. Spears has not publicly performed since the incident, which reportedly left her devastated.
Rumours of a return to the stage for this year’s ceremony have been circulating, after she received two nominations, for Best Female and Best Pop Video.
