The latest Converse collab already has a waiting list (and you’re going to want in…)

And they're GLITTERY. Need we say more?

Words by Lexxi Davis

Converse are one of the most iconic brands of footwear in the world. Almost everybody owns a pair, or at least has done at some point in their lives.

So when we found out that the perennially cool brand have teamed up with British design fave, J.W Anderson, we knew it was going to be a collab of epic proportions… Cue all-over glitter, in an array of colours in the classic trainer shape. AKA The Dream Shoe.

And of course, we’re in love. The high-fashion trainers have already got a waiting list, as they won’t be available to buy in stores until late autumn. So if like us, these have rocketed to the top of your wish list, you’ll want to be refreshing the Converse site on the daily come September…

The trainers debuted at J.W Anderson’s SS18 men’s show, in both plain and multi glitter styles, but will be available across all sizes to cater for both men and women. And now that we know why your shoes are a different size in every shop, you can ensure you buy the right ones for you.

J.W Anderson told BoF; ‘I’ve been wearing Converse for years and years, so when they approached me I couldn’t turn it down because it’s something that I wear… Converse or Uniqlo serve an incredible purpose to me. They are universal and I would love J.W. Anderson to be that universal, but we don’t have that [production] volume.’

As well as the glittery styles that everyone is already obsessed with, the collection also features monochrome styles with  ‘J.W Anderson’ text print, raw edged high tops in sandy suede and more of a modern trainer shape, complete with classic Converse star.

And if you can’t wait that long, there’s always the Chuck Taylor All Stars x Nike Flynit/ Looney Tunes/ Pride/ Carharrt Converse collabs to shop now…

But we think the glitter styles are definitely worth the wait.
