Another ultra-fashionable baby has arrived! Designer Tom Ford and partner Richard Buckley welcomed son Alexander John Buckley Ford on 23 September, and announced the news today.

This is the first child for Ford, 51, and his long-term partner, journalist Richard Buckley, who have been together for 25 years. The designer-turned-Single Man director credited with injecting the Gucci brand with mucho sex appeal in the 1990s has been busy working on his eponymous beauty line and celeb-friendly ready-to-wear collections.

Baby Alexander was born in Los Angeles, but don't get too excited about seeing him - and his undoubtedly fabulous wardrobe - in the public eye. In a 2011 interview with Time Out Hong Kong, Ford said:

'...if I have children, no one will know about it until the child is born. And no one will ever see the child because I certainly wouldn't use it as a press tool.'

'If I have a child, you won't notice that I had a child. Maybe you'll see it when it's 18, but I will keep it out of the spotlight.'

Hmm, even if we won't get to glimpse baby Ford, perhaps this new arrival will inspire the launch of a new children's wear label... Many congratulations to Tom and Richard!
