French Connection has just launched wedding dresses and they are FAB

Perfect for brides on a budget

Perfect for brides on a budget

Forget designer dresses, these days, it's all about high street wedding dresses, thanks to the likes of ASOS, Whistles and Needle & Thread bringing the A game to the bridal party.

Now French Connection is the latest store to offer a wedding collection, and it was worth the wait. The Spring ‘18 line is a capsule of delicate gowns with a modern twist, for brides who don't necessarily want a traditional ballgown.

Think full length boho-inspired gowns with romantic voluminous sleeves, timeless designs featuring intricately hand-embellished bodices and flowing full length skirts.

For the contemporary bride or perhaps an evening outfit change, the brand has designed two alternative looks; the full length lace trouser worn with feminine pussy-bow blouse is particularly cool, whilst the lace twinset top and culottes is perfect for a city wedding.

There are also some fab bridesmaids dresses to complement the bride, from colourful floral embroidery to ethereal beaded blossoms that add a subtle touch of sparkle to the day. We're in love.

The collection is available to pre-order now, with prices starting at just £65 for the patched shirt. Shop it below...

Penny Goldstone

Penny Goldstone is the Digital Fashion Editor at Marie Claire, covering everything from catwalk trends to royal fashion and the latest high street and Instagram must-haves.

Penny grew up in France and studied languages and law at the Sorbonne Nouvelle University in Paris before moving to the UK for her MA in multimedia journalism at Bournemouth University. She moved to the UK permanently and has never looked back (though she does go back regularly to stock up on cheese and wine).

Although she's always loved fashion - she used to create scrapbooks of her favourite trends and looks, including Sienna Miller and Kate Moss' boho phase - her first job was at MoneySavingExpert.com, sourcing the best deals for everything from restaurants to designer sales.

However she quit after two years to follow her true passion, fashion journalism, and after many years of internships and freelance stints at magazines including Red, Cosmopolitan, Stylist and Good Housekeeping, landed her dream job as the Digital Fashion Editor at Marie Claire UK.

Her favourite part of the job is discovering new brands and meeting designers, and travelling the world to attend events and fashion shows. Seeing her first Chanel runway IRL at Paris Fashion Week was a true pinch-me moment.
