SUPERMODELS: THEN AND NOW
Edward Enninful, Fashion and Style Director at US fashion magazine W, was one of the VIP guests at the insane birthday bash and tweeted a series of fabulous photos of the fashion pack in action at the event.
Guests, including supermodels Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Eva Herzigova and Karolina Kurkova, as well as fashion’s power players like designer Zac Posen and photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, all donned their finest apparel – twice – for the elaborate fancy dress bash.
On Monday evening, the fash pack wore full Indian regalia for the festivities, which took place at the 15th century Mehrangarh Fort, and on Tuesday, the guests flaunted their best interpretations of 1930s style for an Art Deco-era soirée.
Kate Moss turned glamour-puss for the occasion, looking gorgeous with a perfectly coiffed wavy hairstyle, sultry eye makeup, a red pout and diamond drop earrings and necklace teamed with a gold lame dress and jacket, which Enninful aptly titled: ‘Kitty Kat.’
Enninful also posted a shot of Naomi looking radiant in a heavily beaded flapper-esque ensemble complete with feather boa and jewelled feather fascinator, captioned: ‘The incomparable @naomicampbell! Thank you for the best party ever xoxo’ as well as an image of himself in top hat and tails, posing with Naomi, with the text: ‘@naomicampbell 1930’s GLAMOUR !!!!!! India xoxo.’
The stylist and editor also posted photos of the models Karolina Kurkova and Eva Herzigova in their Indian costumes – complete with hair jewels and bindis – from the celebrations, as well as a picture of the iconic Diana Ross performing in a glittering red beaded frock. He also posted atmospheric photos of the Art Deco-style nightclub setting where the Gatsby-style party was held and the Rolls-Royces that drove guests around Jodhpur.
According to the Daily Mail, the decadent party cost millions and involved chartering thirteen planes to jet 200 international guests from far-flung destinations like Moscow, London, New York, Abu Dhabi, Istanbul, Mumbai and Delhi.
