Kate Middleton first wore the dove grey Roksanda Ilincic cocktail dress during her tour of America last year
Kate Middleton indulged in a spot of style recycling last night, stepping out solo at a glittering London cocktail bash in in a dove grey Roksanda Ilincic dress.
The Duchess of Cambridge chose the classic, wool crepe Peridot dress by Serbian-born designer Roksanda Ilincic for a creative industries reception at the Royal Academy of Arts supported by The Founders Forum in London’s Piccadilly.
Pulling her glossy brunette locks up into an elegant chignon (courtesy of favourite hairdresser Richard Ward, no doubt) Kate styled up her simple look with L.K Bennett’s taupe suede Harper heels, and custom-made Kiki McDonough earrings.
Although Kate Middleton arrived looking every inch the superstar, but we just couldn’t help feeling we’d seen her elegant ensemble before.
And that’s because we had.
Known for her thrifty fashion choices and love of style recycling, Kate first wore the dress to travel to Los Angeles during her overseas tour of America and Canada last year.
Arriving at the evening event, held to celebrate the Government’s GREAT Campaign, Kate Middleton flashed a dazzling smile for photographers, before being greeted by David Cameron.
Making a short speech to open the event, the Prime Minister had the star-studded audience – which included Stella McCartney, Lily Cole and Tracey Emin – in stitches, when he turned to the Duchess of Cambridge and said: ‘My favourite part of the opening ceremony was when your husband leant over and said to me ‘I don’t know if you know, Prime Minister, but my grandmother is a great fan of Dizzee Rascal.’
Yesterday Kate Middleton and Prince William joined Prince Harry and Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie to cheer on Zara Phillips at the Olympics.
The Duchess is expected to watch as many as 15 Olympic events in the coming fortnight.
