Kate Middleton set yet another style trend when she stepped out in Le Chameau wellies on a camping trip
Kate Middleton’s influence on fashion is showing no signs of fading as it’s been revealed that sales of the Le Chameau wellies the Duchess wore on a recent charity camping trip have risen substantially.
Ever since Kate was photographed wearing the £300 Le Chameau Vierzonard wellingtons at the Expanding Horizons event in Kent, sales of the practical footwear have sky-rocketed.
Managing director of Wellie-web.co.uk Giles Palmer told The Telegraph that his company has experienced an increase of 32 per cent.
He said: ‘We have very much seen a boost in our sales, which are up by 32 per cent.
‘Sales in the wellies have also increased by 56 per cent year-on-year.
‘We’ve also been inundated with enquiries for the boot she wears. They’re very good boots and she must certainly know her wellies.
‘If Kate wears a product, everyone wants to get hold of it.’
Brands are desperate for Kate Middleton to wear their items due to her phenomenal influence on consumers.
Kate has done wonders for the British fashion industry, often choosing UK designers and even high street names for her high profile public appearances.
Reiss, Whistles, Zara, Burberry, Jenny Packham, Issa and Orla Kiely have all been lucky enough to have had Kate indirectly endorse them, while Links of London admitted they lost out on about £8 million when they failed to take advantage when the Duchess of Cambridge stepped out in a pair of their earrings.
