Maggie Gyllenhall and Peter Sarsgaard Kids:
Ramona, 6, and Gloria, 1Cool factor: The Brooklyn-based couple get points for their stellar acting careers and laid-back style. Their kids also have Jake Gyllenhall as an uncle, which is obviously awesome.
Sofia Coppola and Thomas Mars Kids: Romy, 6, and Cosima, 3Cool factor: She’s one of the best film directors in the world (think The Virgin Suicides, Lost in Translation and, more recently, The Bling Ring) and he’s the lead singer of Phoenix. An intimidatingly cool combination.
Beyonce and Jay-Z Kids: Blue Ivy, 1 Cool factor: It’s Beyoncé and Jay-Z – we hardly need to explain why they're on our 'need-to-be-friends-with' list.
Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis Kids: Lily-Rose, 14, and John Christopher, 11 Cool factor: OK, they're divorced, but Johnny has his own Caribbean island for the kids to run around on and will happily dress up as Captain Jack Sparrow at the drop of a hat, while Vanessa is French, a Chanel muse and a talented musician. Enough said.
Sienna Miller and Tom Sturridge Kids: Marlowe, 1 Cool factor: They have that whole thespian, laid-back hipster thing going on, they're the faces of Burberry, and we bet Sienna knows how to make a mean daisy chain, as well.
Arizona Muse Kids: Nikko, 4 Cool factor: She’s one of the most in-demand models on Earth and a single mum to the gorgeous Nikko. And, let’s face it, even her name is cool.
Caleb Followill and Lily Aldridge Kids: Dixie Pearl, 1 Cool factor: He’s a rockstar and she’s a Victoria’s Secret model – it doesn’t get much better than that. He wrote "Sex On Fire" about their relationship, though, which could get awkward for Dixie when she grows up.
Kate Hudson and Matt Bellamy Kids: Ryder, 9, (from Kate’s marriage to The Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson) and Bingham, 2 Cool factor: This duo have a transatlantic edge thanks to the whole Hollywood film star meets British rock star thing. And we bet Goldie Hawn is a ridiculously fun grandma.
Stella McCartney and Alasdhair Willis Kids: Miller, 8, Bailey, 6, Beckett, 5, and Reiley, 3 Cool factor: Most of the kudos has to go to Stella, her designs and her rockstar lineage. Not to mention her friends – you know you’re onto a winner when Kate Moss is a potential babysitter – but husband Alasdhair Willis is a pretty impressive dude himself, having previously been the publishing director of Wallpaper* magazine and now the creative director for Hunter.
Fearne Cotton and Jesse Wood Kids: Rex, 6 months Cool factor: Jesse’s dad is in The Rolling Stones (Ronnie Wood, obvs), and nothing trumps a rockstar grandpa.
