Niamh McCollum

Features Assistant

Niamh McCollum is Features Assistant at Marie Claire UK, and specialises in entertainment, female empowerment, mental health, social development and careers.

Tackling both news and features, Niamh has covered everything from therapy dogs, to the rise of female-friendly porn and the latest campaigns protecting human rights.

Niamh studied Law in Trinity College Dublin. It was while she was on her Erasmus year in Toronto (AKA ‘The 6’) that her love of writing was reignited, after enrolling in a Law and Literature class and writing her thesis on the importance of civil disobedience in protecting human rights, through the lens of Seamus Heaney’s poetry.

Niamh started her writing journey as an intern, before working as a Junior Digital Writer for GoodtoKnow and re-joining the vibrant Marie Claire team in April.

Although still fresh on the Marie Claire scene, Niamh has had the total pleasure of contributing to our Women Who Win series by interviewing incredibly inspiring females, such as forensic scientist Ruth Morgan, Labour MP Stella Creasy and ITV’s former Home Affairs Editor Jennifer Nadel.

When not in the office, Niamh can often be found scrolling through Reddit threads, partaking in the odd late-night pottery session and checking out different gig venues across the city.
