The Met Ball, or the Costume Institute Gala as it's officially called, is the Oscars of the fashion world. The annual gala celebrates the opening of the Metropolitan Museum's (The Met) fashion exhibition at the Costume Institute in New York but the red carpet bash attracts the great and the good of Hollywood. Who can forget the Met Ball 2011 where Madonna (pictured) shared a table with Sir Paul McCartney, Stella McCartney and Marc Jacobs, or Lady Gaga's Met Ball performance?
