Take a behind-the-scenes peek at the making of the pop star's upcoming summer 2013 collection for River Island
Rihanna has given us a behind-the-scenes peek at the making of her second River Island collection in a new video released today.
In anticipation of the new line's release date later this month (it hits the shop floor and the web on 25th May) and as we bring you the first look at the collection in full, the high street store has posted this teaser clip to give fans a glimpse into the making of the range.
The video shows Rihanna and her River Island team, including co-designer Adam Selman, in the design studio signing off garments, trying on samples and talking through the inspiration behind the clothing line.
Rihanna says in the clip: 'I made a piece for everybody in my crew. We all have different body types and different tastes, and some were braver than others. But you know, I think like that, because that's how all the women in the world are. We're all different, we all like different things and we all have different occasions, different moods and different body types.'
She added: 'I just wanted stuff that I want to wear, because at the end of the day, that's what got me into designing...I was being selfish. But hopefully, my fans and the River Island customers will have the same taste.'
The new collection is jam-packed with affordable fashion items including sexy bodycon dresses, off-the-shoulder crop tops, denim jackets and mesh skirts, as well as heaps of tie-dye pieces (perfect for hitting the beach in Jamaica, according to the singer) and T-shirts emblazoned with pictures of her face as shot by her photographer friend Melissa Forde.
