Mindy Kaling and Tory Burch just destigmatised something we all do

And it’s making us feel festive already

Gone are the days of re-gifting fruitcakes. Mindy Kaling is schooling everyone on how to take their re-gifting game up a notch, repurposing the perfect Christmas gifts for her, all thanks to Tory Burch.

Just in time for the holidays, the duo teamed up for a tongue-in-cheek video about just that, with The Mindy Project star getting a surprise delivery from Burch just as she’s putting together her list of Christmas gift recipients.

‘I’m finished with my Christmas list,’ Kaling says in A Very Merry Mindy as she sits at a desk in a printed Tory Burch sweater with a deep hue on her lips. ‘Wait, I haven’t done any shopping. How am I going to get this done in time?’

On cue, a signature Tory Burch-printed box arrives at her door filled with goodies that her friend Burch picked out just for her. From a navy Tory peace sweatshirt and ruffled sneakers, to a Tory Burch McGraw Tote and gold-rimmed shades, the box has it all. Even better, it has something for everyone on her list.

It turns out it’s not just an ordinary gift box, though. In addition to the swag inside, it also includes the Tory Burch Foundation Seed Box, which benefits women entrepreneurs (Mindy decides to keep that for herself).

It’s the perfect gift box for giving and giving back — and it has given us a ton of ideas for the season.

And how did this video collaboration come to be? Kaling and Burch struck up a friendship in 2011 after the actress randomly tweeted, ‘I love you Tory Burch, you closeted bling-loving Indian woman you.’ The duo has been teaming up since then, with Kaling even arriving at the Met Gala as Burch’s guest.

This video has given us the re-gifting Christmas excitement that we needed.

As for what Kaling will get Burch for the holidays, we’ll just have to wait and see.
