Kate Middleton’s ears may perk up once she gets wind of plans to open a new fashion outlet at The O2 Arena.

Said to be similar to the Duchess of Cambridge’s beloved Bicester Village in Oxfordshire, a new discount designer shopping outlet could be opening in the popular Greenwhich venue.

According to The Times, Land Securities, the UK’s biggest property company, are in talks with the owners of The O2 to make use of an unused section of the former Millennium Dome.

The property pros, in partnership with AEG Europe, hope to attract the likes of Dolce & Gabbana, Dior and Louis Vuitton to the South East London destination, which currently hosts largely after-dark events in music and film.

It’s thought that there’s potential for up to 110 shops on the venue’s ground floor, as well as vacant space on the upper balcony.

‘We are strongly of the view that a well-executed and positioned designer outlet village could drive the huge success enjoyed to date at the O2,’ said Alistair Wood, senior vice president of real estate and development at AEG. ‘We welcome Land Securities as our potential partner, who we believe to be an ideal match in terms of track record and skill match.’
