This is the most popular day of the week to shop fashion online

Guess which one?

Guess which one?

How often do you actually go into a high street store to buy clothes? If the answer is ‘once or twice a month’ then you’re not alone, because let’s face it, shopping online is more convenient (and this is the other reason you shop online FYI).

But is there such a thing as a best time to do your virtual fashion shop? There is indeed, according to Amazon, and it’s the same day you do all your other essential weekly admin, such as cleaning, prepping lunches for the week, and watching Poldark obviously. In other words: Sunday.

Despite shoppers buying fashion every day of the week, Sunday sees the most sales, judging by data compiled for the Amazon Trends Report 2017.

And if you were wondering what trends people are buying, the humble jeans have seen a surge in orders, with skinny and mum jeans being the most popular styles of the season so far.

Jewellery has also seen an increase in orders, and surprisingly, silver jewellery is being ordered far more than gold. Is our love affair with rose gold over? Could be…

So next time you're looking to get your fashion fix online, you may want to be more productive and do it all in one day, it makes sense, doesn't it?

Penny Goldstone is the Digital Fashion Editor at Marie Claire, covering everything from catwalk trends to royal fashion and the latest high street and Instagram must-haves.

Penny grew up in France and studied languages and law at the Sorbonne Nouvelle University in Paris before moving to the UK for her MA in multimedia journalism at Bournemouth University. She moved to the UK permanently and has never looked back (though she does go back regularly to stock up on cheese and wine).

Although she's always loved fashion - she used to create scrapbooks of her favourite trends and looks, including Sienna Miller and Kate Moss' boho phase - her first job was at MoneySavingExpert.com, sourcing the best deals for everything from restaurants to designer sales.

However she quit after two years to follow her true passion, fashion journalism, and after many years of internships and freelance stints at magazines including Red, Cosmopolitan, Stylist and Good Housekeeping, landed her dream job as the Digital Fashion Editor at Marie Claire UK.

Her favourite part of the job is discovering new brands and meeting designers, and travelling the world to attend events and fashion shows. Seeing her first Chanel runway IRL at Paris Fashion Week was a true pinch-me moment.
