L'Wren Scott's sudden death shocked people all over the world - but those who knew her personally were effected on a deeper level.

Since the news of her apparent suicide broke Monday afternoon, many celebrities have come forward to honour the famed American fashion designer.

One of the most heartfelt reactions came from British supermodel Naomi Campbell.

'I am deeply shocked and devastated by the news,' she wrote on WhoSay. 'L'Wren was someone I knew since I was 17. We travelled the world together many times. L'Wren was someone I always loved.'

Naomi continued: 'She was the epitome of elegance and femininity yet still had a girlish quality. I will miss her honesty and I will miss her friendship. My heart goes out to Mick and all who loved her and were loved by her. May she Rest in Peace.'

L'Wren had been dating Rolling Stones rocker Mick Jagger since 2001. His ex-wife Bianca Jagger also shared her hearbreak via Twitter.

'Heartbroken to learn of the loss of the lovely and talented L'Wren Scott,' she posted. 'My thoughts and prayers are with her family. May she rest in peace.'

Several other notable public figures took to social media expressed their grief and condolences.
