Meatballs, anybody?

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are currently on tour in Sweden and have spent their time meeting the Swedish royals, rubbing shoulders the likes of Alicia Vikander and facing off against local hockey players - you know, the regular touristy stuff. Just the other day in Stockholm, they took some time out to see the best and brightest of Scandinavian home design and it was revealed even they can’t resist shopping at IKEA.

Marcus Engman, IKEA’s head of design, accompanied Kate Middleton and Prince William on a tour of a competition aimed at promising young Swedish designers. As they toured the exhibit at the architectural centre ArkDes, they naturally got to chatting about their digs in the Royal Palace. Engman revealed to Hello! that apparently Kate Middleton and Prince William told him they have IKEA furniture in Prince George and Princess Charlotte's rooms.

Engman said, ‘I’m proud that we can suit everybody. That’s what I want IKEA to be - for the many people of the world, both royalty and ordinary people.’

Kate and Will are in good company, as Engman also revealed that a number of Swedish royals can’t resist a good old BILLY bookcase.

That said, we doubt the Royals actually get their hands and knees dirty and assemble the furniture themselves. Could you really imagine Kate and Will struggling to put a children’s table together?
