Robert Pattinson was pulled over by law enforcement officers in South Australia, where he is filming his latest movie
He may be one of Hollywood’s hottest actors, with five Twilight films under his belt, but Robert Pattinson has been reminded that he’s not above the law.
The sheepish actor was pulled over and cautioned by authorities in Australia, after riding his bike without a helmet.
Robert Pattinson’s brush with law enforcement officers came as he rode his bike through a South Australian city, where he has been filming latest flick The Rover, last week.
Local law dictates cyclist must wear ‘an approved bicycle helmet that is properly adjusted and securely fastened’.
But after paparazzi pictures of Rob cycling around sans safety gear appeared in an Australian newspaper, police were on the case.
A South Australian police spokesman confirmed that the Twilight star had been ‘cautioned’, adding that officers were ‘confident Mr Pattinson is now well aware’ of the Australian laws.
‘He was spoke to and told of the requirement to wear a helmet when riding a bike in the state of South Australia,’ the spokesman revealed.
‘He was just told of this requirement… and cautioned.’
While Rob was issued with a warning, it’s thought the actor escaped a $90 fine, plus a $60 victims of crime levy.
Robert Pattinson touched down at Melbourne airport with just his guitar for company last month, while rumours of a split with Kristen Stewart raged.
Rumours surfaced that Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart had split for the second time emerged, after sources said Rob struggled to get over her affair July 2012 with Snow White director Rupert Sanders.
Meanwhile, Sanders’ model wife Liberty Ross has filed for divorce.
