Robert Pattinson arrives in Australia alone following Kristen Stewart split rumours

Robert Pattinson jetted into Melbourne with just his guitar for company, after reports he has split with Kristen Stewart

Robert Pattinson touched down at Melbourne airport with just his guitar for company last night, while rumours of a split with Kristen Stewart raged.

According to insiders, Rob called time on his relationship with Kristen before the Golden Globes last weekend.

But he certainly didn't show any sign of heartbreak, smiling and laughing with a member of airport staff who escorted him through the airport.

The actor looked uncharacteristically happy as he was walked to a connecting flight to Adelaide, in a hooded top, baseball cap and sunglasses, carrying his guitar.

Yesterday, reports surfaced that Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart had split for the second time, after Rob struggled to get over her affair July 2012 with Snow White director Rupert Sanders.

'She flew to LA and was supposed to be Rob’s date for the Golden Globes, but he told her he wants to cool it off,' a source told the Sun.

'He loves her but would rather go back to being good friends so they can rebuild their trust and focus on work after Twilight.

'Kristen’s upset but understands. She shouldn’t have pushed him to reconcile after her infidelity. She’s hoping he’ll come round and time will be a great healer.'

The source added: 'He was getting so much pressure to ditch her. His friends told him to focus on his career and said she was wrecking his chances.'
