  • Rihanna gets it oh so wrong

Rihanna rocked a look that can only be described as brave on the streets of New York yesterday.

The singer stopped traffic as she stepped out in a dominatrix-inspired get-up, featuring criss-cross PVC hold-ups, suede peep-toe shoe boots, denim cut-offs, an Eighties-style leather jacket with zip sleeves and black gloves.

The star pulled the look together with wraparound shades and, something we’ve never encountered in the world of accessories, ear-to-ear chain earrings.

Everyone has fashion down days, but the 22-year-old reached a whole new low; perhaps her mates were throwing a bad taste party, we can only hope…

Rihanna has now had a double-whammy of fashion faux pas this week, after her appearance at fashion’s biggest night of the year, the Costume Institute Gala Ball, wearing a shiny Dolce & Gabbana tuxedo suit and bow tie. The singer had the boulder shoulder trend nailed, with oversized puff shoulders, tapering into tight cuffs.

It’s great to see the songstress back out in public again, following a troublesome start to the year, but maybe it’s time to hire a stylist – or at least sack the current one.
