This is lovely
After five months of marriage, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have announced they are expecting their first child together.
We were fairly sure that babies were on the cards for these two as the couple’s reaction to children being mentioned during their wedding said it all. And now Baby Sussex is officially due in spring 2019.
The couple received their very first baby gift from Australia’s Governor General yesterday on day one of their royal tour, a cuddly toy that was very appropriate for the trip.
But that’s not all, as it turns out Meghan already has a present ready if she gives birth to a baby girl.
An old interview recently surfaced in which Meghan revealed she already has a gift for her future daughter; if she has a little girl, she plans on passing down her Cartier Tank Française watch, which is engraved with a sentimental message.
‘When I found out Suits had been picked up for our third season – which, at the time, felt like such a milestone – I totally splurged and bought the two tone version,’ she told Hello! Canada back in 2015.
‘I had it engraved on the back, “To M.M. from M.M.” And I plan to give it to my daughter one day. That’s what makes pieces special, the connection you have to them.’
Side note: could this be a big clue that if Meghan and Harry have a girl, her name will begin with M? The plot thickens…
We like to think the watch will become a long-held family heirloom in years to come.
