'She just wants to make sure that her boys are safe'

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made waves last month as they announced they were taking legal action against the Mail on Sunday after the tabloid had published a private letter that Meghan Markle had written to her father, Thomas Markle.

‘I lost my mother and now I watch my wife falling victim to the same powerful forces’, Prince Harry explained, referring to the constant online abuse his wife has faced since becoming a royal.‘There comes a point when the only thing to do is to stand up to this behaviour, because it destroys people and destroys lives. Put simply, it is bullying, which scares and silences people. We all know this isn’t acceptable, at any level. We won’t and can’t live in a world where there is no accountability for this.’

The legal action that may see Meghan forced to testify against her father Thomas Markle has proven controversial, dividing public opinion and prompting more online abuse against the Duchess of Sussex.

But according to close friend Daniel Martin, Meghan’s main concern is the safety of her husband and their baby.

‘She has a lot on her plate and I feel like she just wants to make sure that her boys are safe,’ Daniel explained in an interview with CBS This Morning. ‘I know her and she’s going to totally take care of this - it’s just about understanding the ways around it.’

We’re sending our thoughts to Meghan and Harry.
