While Twilight star Kristen Stewart has reportedly signed on to star in the sequel to Snow White and the Huntsman, her ex-fling Rupert Sanders has declined to direct the film
After details of a tryst between Kristen Stewart – who was dating Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson – and Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders (a father-of-two married to model Liberty Ross) emerged over the summer, it was unclear whether Kristen would appear in the Snow White sequel after reports that Ross had banned Sanders from working with Stewart again.
New reports suggest that the tables have turned and that Kristen will be back in the leading role (Universal Studios always denied that she had been dropped), but the studio is looking for someone else to sit in the director’s chair after Rupert declined to participate in the project.
‘The script has already been written and production will begin late next year,’ a source told RadarOnline.com, ‘however Rupert Sanders definitely won’t be a part of the project.
‘Rupert didn’t want to be a part of it to begin with because he is desperately still trying to save his marriage. The search is on for a new director.’
Although they hit a rough patch when they split up over the summer, Kristen and Robert have reconciled and were spotted cuddling and hand-holding as they jetted from city to city to promote the last instalment of the Twilight franchise.
