The Duchess of Cambridge has been credited with helping the British's label's profits increase by a whopping 27 percent
Kate Middleton has been credited with helping many a dress fly off the shelves since joining the royal family, after wearing a series of gorgeous gowns to her frequent royal engagements.
And now the Duchess of Cambridge has worked her magic once again, reportedly helping boots profits at British label Alexander McQueen by a whopping 27 per cent.
According to new reports, the brand’s takings amounted to a profit of £5 million and sales of £41 million during the last year, from stores in Britain, Italy and the US alone.
And it’s thought Kate Middleton is behind McQueen’s soaring sales.
The Duchess was watched by over a billion people around the world as she walked down the aisle at the royal wedding in a stunning Sarah Burton-designed Alexander McQueen gown.
Kate’s dress, reminiscent of Grace Kelly’s 1956 bridal gown, was thoroughly British – save for the French Chantilly lace, and a great advert for the label.
Afterwards, Sarah Burton, who was responsible for Kate’s McQueen dress, told the press was been ‘an incredible experience for my team and I, as we have worked closely with Catherine to create this dress under conditions of the strictest secrecy.’
She added that she was ‘delighted that the dress represents the best of British craftsmanship. Alexander McQueen’s designs are all about bringing contrasts together to create startling and beautiful clothes and I hope that by marrying traditional fabrics and lacework, with a modern structure and design, we have created a beautiful dress for Catherine on her wedding day.’
Kate Middleton’s royal wedding dress isn’t the only Alexander McQueen piece we’ve seen her in.
The Duchess has since worn an array of the designer’s dresses, including the stunning scarlet design she chose for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee pageant, and a white skirt and jacket she wore on her Jubilee tour with Prince William.
