We spoke to the Spanish designer as he promoted the DVD release of Les Miserables, to ask how Kate Middleton’s style fares against the Spanish royal family's.

He told us: ‘Kate Middleton is great, she looks amazing and she has brought a lot of fresh air to the monachary here.’

KATE MIDDLETON’S BIRTHING PLAN REVEALED

But when it came to comparing Spanish with British high society fashion, Paco didn’t find things too different. ‘It’s the same in every family,’ he said. ‘The mother is much more conservative and the younger people, her nieces and granddaughters are more avant garde.’

Paco Delgado went on to touch on the pressures on royals to dress appropriately, adding: ‘They have to keep in mind that they play a role - they can’t just go and have Mohican, the younger people in both royal families do great.’

Yes, we have to agree with that!

Les Miserables is out on DVD on 13 May, pre-order your copy from amazon.co.uk
