The Oscar winner joins Kate Middleton, Lena Dunham and Beyoncé on the prestigious list
This year Jennifer Lawrence appears on the power player list that charts the most influential people in the world. Fellow Oscar winner Jodie Foster wrote a brief passage explaining just why The Hunger Games star is deserving of a place in the top 100.
‘Sure, this girl can act,’ wrote Jodie Foster, ‘But, man, this girl can also just be.’ And that’s precisely what’s earned he such a strong fan base. Jodie continued saying:
‘Her good-humored, ballsy, free-spirited alter ego with the husky voice and a propensity for junk food … Jen, the spritely tomboy from Kentucky — that Jen’s got it together. A hoot. A gem. A gem with a killer stare.’
Time’s 100 Most Influential People list is not ranked but is separated into categories this year includes Leaders featuring Barack Obama and Pope Francis, Pioneers and Titans, where Jay-Z’s and Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg reside.
Popular culture is not exempt from the list and other categories are Icons that sees Beyoncé, Michelle Obama, Justin Timberlake, Lena Dunham, Daniel Day-Lewis and Kate Middleton all receive nods this year.
The final group is Artists where Jennifer Lawrence, Christina Aguilera and Steven Spielberg each gained a spot.
