Is there no stopping Jay-Z? After wowing on his Watch the Throne world tour with Kanye West he got straight into ensuring his friend, Barack Obama, was re-elected and now he’s set his sights on Hollywood with a role in The Great Gatsby.
JAY-Z AND BEYONCE ENJOY DATE AT BASKETBALL GAME
While he won’t be taking up acting just yet, the superstar rapper has been put in charge of the soundtrack for the hotly anticipated, The Great Gatsby.
The film’s director, Baz Luhrmann, (the brains behind Moulin Rouge) wants the music to be modern and decided Jay-Z was the only man for the job.
The choice of contemporary sounds is a more unusual choice considering The Great Gatsby is set in 1920s New York and is adapted from F Scott Fitzgerald’s book. But with Jay-Z on board it’s bound to be incredible.

We’re just not sure how he finds the time to have so many work commitments as well as be a doting dad and husband to the ladies in his life, Blue Ivy and Beyonce.
