Last weekend, baby Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was christened in a private ceremony at the Queen's Private Chapel in Windsor Castle.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle decided not to make their son's important day a public affair, and reportedly less than twenty five people attended. However, they did release two very sweet photos and eagle-eyed fans spotted these lovely tributes to Harry's mother, the late Princess Diana.

The world is interested in every detail, from the story behind Archie's christening gown to why the Queen was absent.

While Kensington Palace released a statement confirming that the Sussexes would be keeping Archie's godparents a secret as they are private citizens, an insider has shared details about the little royal's godfather.

Many believed that the couple would choose A-list godparents, considering that Meghan is good friends with the likes of Serena Williams, Priyanka Chopra and George and Amal Clooney.

However, a source told The Times that Archie's godfather is Prince Harry’s school friend Charlie van Straubenzee.

The pair have been friends since their days at Ludgrove Prep School in Berkshire, and Charlie was once described as Harry's 'wingman'. At the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's wedding last year, Charlie reportedly gave a speech joking about Harry being 'a ginger'.

It is believed that Harry served as best man to Charlie when he married videographer Daisy Jenks last year, and Charlie's older brother, Thomas, is best friends with Prince William and godfather to Princess Charlotte. Thomas is also engaged to Prince George’s school teacher Lucy Lanigan-O’Keeffe, and the pair reportedly met through William.

So it's clear that the two families are very close.

How sweet!
