  • Hip boutique hotel with a hostel-style vibe and luxury amenities, steps from the shopping and nightlife of trendy Palermo Soho

Five Cool Rooms is sixteen cool rooms, actually. But Adriana and Gustavo Teplixke liked the number five – the number in their family and the five-star service they strive for.

The siblings re-imagined a rundown boarding house as a minimalist city hotel – polished concrete, bamboo and leather, with lots of floor-to-ceiling windows and open spaces.

Cheek-to-jowl with the trendy boutiques, restaurants and clubs of recently transformed Palermo Soho, where the hip crowd hang out in former warehouses and factories, it’s a lively hub for an international clientele.

We arrived to a lobby buzzing with conversation. The next morning a group of friends reunited over champagne in the rooftop solarium.

Amenities range from high tech (hotel-wide Wi-Fi) to high touch (24×7 concierge service).

Start your explorations with Five’s opinionated neighbourhood guide, noting where ‘The waiters are usually too busy being beautiful to attend to you in a hurry, but the food makes up for their indifference.’

Five Cool Rooms, Argentina is a design hotel with 17 rooms with doubles costing from US$105 for bed and breakfast.
