The Vibe
Once the headquarters of Cartier's watchmaking empire, now this five-floor historic townhouse is transformed into a destination for the discerning clientele of the city. With a luxury restaurant, private lounge, bar and rooftop terrace. The dress code is smart chic which echoes the modern decadent interior created by leading Greek interior designers Archset. With deep plum velvet chairs and at the end of the dinning room sits the alluring mirrored cocktail bar surrounded by an ever changing art collection.
The Founder
Onima is the vision of founder Alexandros Andrianopoulos and it’s in safe hands with this international restaurateur who has managed the likes of Nammos and Interni, bringing over a decade of experience to Onima. His aim is to bring the spirit of Mykonos to London and create a complete luxury lifestyle experience.
The Food
The menu does not disappoint, filled with classic Italian and Greek dishes with the head chef Carmelo Carevale adding his own modern twist of exotic Asian touches. As you’d imagine only high quality ingredients are sourced and used here and it shows. We start with Sicilian red prawns and tempura prawns, both are fantastic and full of flavour. For our mains we indulge in a dish from the ‘Josper’ section on the menu where all the dishes are cooked over Japanese ‘Binchotan’ charcoal. Tomahawk for two, this is a show stopper and tastes amazing, a true melt in the mouth moment! Perfectly paired with garlic broccoli and chips. Even though by this point we are full we can’t miss the chance to try the tempting dessert menu, and we are so pleased we do! Rounding the meal off with Chocolate Semifreddo with caramel sauce and a reconstructed lemon tart - divine! But there is so much more to offer on the Onima menu, with an exciting fish section including black burger with lobster tempura or Alaskan king crab legs with miso hollandaise sauce. If you are a pasta fan this is a great place to come with squid ink linguini with crab or rigatoni pasta with lamb ragout and pecorino cheese.
