The best places to eat in London
Chinese Cricket Club
There’s nothing I love more than finding somewhere new and delicious to eat: even better, when I actually want to return. Sometimes hotel restaurants get a bad rep—this is not the case. Make sure you head to the Hyatt Regency London Blackfriars because there you’ll find the Chinese Cricket Club.
The dim sum menu is where they really shine: the golden fish gow dumplings burst with fresh flavours, while the har gau was nothing short of incredible. I’d happily return just to make my way through the entire dim sum menu. Another stand out was the creamy prawn curry which was full of fresh and zingy flavour (lemongrass, chilli, lime) and super plump king prawns. Delivered to the table in a smoke-filled cloche, the house speciality, smoky Peking duck, certainly lived up to its reputation.

The waiter recommended the wok-fried fillet of beef—apparently every table this evening has ordered one—and im really glad he did so. It’s an absolute must-try: cooked to perfection, tender, and just the right side of spicy.
It’s perfect for a lunchtime treat or an early evening meal. It was just the right side of busy on a weekday evening—I imagine it would be slightly more energetic at the weekend.
19 New Bridge St, London, Greater London EC4V 6DB
This week we're shopping:
The Radiance Complexion Serum is the latest launch from Australian-founded Three Warriors, formulated with Hyaluronic Acid, Collagen Peptides and Marine Collagen. I’ve been using this product for the last few weeks and can attest to its skin-glowing and radiance-boosting properties.
What’s better than one Neverfull? Two, of course. The Neverfull Inside Out is a clever little bag that can be folded inside out to reveal a completely different pattern. Take this one for example, it’s very much business on the front, party inside. We love.
Greige was on the moodboard for Giorgio Armani: they’ve created a limited edition collection—exclusive to Selfridges—of 15 styles based on the colour. From the campaign was lensed by Ronan Gallagher and showcases the collection that features everything from a rather delicious oversized coat, the perfect autumnal knit and a slouchy two-piece suit.

Last week, our Fashion Editor spotted Chloë Sevigny in these platform boots, and to be completely honest with you, the entire team still isn’t over it. These are a slightly lower version (they graze the ankle) and would look cute with a jeans and simple T-shirt combo.
If you’ve got some last-minute sun on the horizon, whether you’re heading to the beach or sitting poolside, you’ll want to get the perfect carry-all bag. Lyn Harris has a knack for being able to bottle up emotions. Saddle, the latest perfume for Perfumer H, is a seriously sophisticated and complex scent that marries bergamot with aldehydes, benzoin resin, patchouli and jasmine, the result of which is rather rousing and transformative—it makes you feel and smell like money. Not actual paper cash, but more so the feeling of being inexplicably rich. In actuality, it's a bit spicy and a little bit leathery. We are obsessed.

We’re big fans of the British singer here at MC, so we’re thrilled that Masha Popova (always an LFW highlight) has bagged PinkPanteress as the protagonist of their AW24 campaign photographed by Zach Apo-Tsang. It’s the perfect pairing in our eyes as the two share the same energy, attitude and aesthetic.
