But Meghan is…

Over the past few months, the world has been focused on Queen Elizabeth’s budding friendship with her new granddaughter-in-law, Meghan Markle, with the two seemingly becoming very close.

They share jewellery, travel on the royal train together, and are said to bond over their love of dogs.

The two women are so close in fact that Meghan seems to play a key role in the Queen’s latest documentary, Queen of the World.

But while the trailer for the ITV documentary that airs next week shows a lot of the Duchess of Sussex, her sister-in-law Kate Middleton is nowhere to be seen.

Yes, it looks like Kate Middleton has a much smaller role than Meghan Markle in the Queen’s documentary, and while Meghan can be seen having her own interview and being reunited with her wedding dress on camera, Kate has no predicted air-time focused on her alone.

While some questioned whether this was down to a royal snub or a sign that the Queen and Kate Middleton weren't as friendly as we thought, it’s actually all down to Kate’s schedule, with the Duchess having an incredibly busy year.

She did give birth to an heir to the throne after all!

‘Kate was largely out of action during the main filming,’ an insider explained to People. ‘CHOGM [Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting] was a focal point, and she was due to give birth any minute then.’

Apparently we will still catch a few glimpses of the Duchess of Cambridge, but she will just be taking more of a backseat in the documentary.

Thank goodness! We can’t wait to tune in!

ITV’s Queen of the World airs on Tuesday 25th September at 9.15pm.
