Love was certainly in the air at the Golden Globes 2016... but who made our cut of the coolest red carpet couples?
While our date nights might consist of watching a film on Netflix and eating a takeaway curry in our trackies, last night celebrities and their significant others came out in force for a date night to rival all others. Everyone from Eddie Redmayne and Hannah Bagshawe to Paul Dano and Zoe Kazan came out to celebrate the night and enjoy the beginning of awards season.
The all-star couple, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Jason Statham announced their engagement on the red carpet with Rosie debuting a huge ring to go with her gold couture gown by Atelier Versace. Congrats guys!
While he may not have won the best actor award, Eddie Redmayne and his wife, Hannah won over our hearts with their cosy display on the red carpet. Hannah who is pregnant (and may we say, positively glowing) was chaperoned by her husband all evening. Is it okay to admit that we’re a tiny bit jealous?
Channing Tatum and his wife, Jenna Dewan-Tatum also made waves on the red carpet. The couple, who recently competed against each other on the program, Lip Sync Battle, made a cute display on the red carpet. While we’re big fans of these guys, we’re not so sure about Channing’s new hairstyle, which was very Bieber. But who knows, maybe it’ll catch on?
Another cute couple alert should go out for Melissa McCarthy and her beau, Ben Falcone. You may recognise him from Bridesmaids where he plays the Jon, the Air Marshall opposite Melissa. He’ll also be appearing in the upcoming The Boss with Melissa again.
Cate Blanchett pulled out all the stops for her date night with her screenwriter/director hubbie Andrew Upton by wearing a Givenchy gown. Her beauty look will also be serving as #inspo for our next date.
Here's our rundown of the coolest celebrity couples that attended the 73rd annual Golden Globes...
Christian Bale attended the evening with his wife, Sibi Blazic who wore a pretty lace dress.
Bad hairstyle aside (Channing, we're looking at you), Channing and Jenna still give us #RelationshipGoals
Amy Adams attended with her husband Darren Le Gallo who she met in an acting class. Seems those paid off!
Director Alejandro - who won the Best Director gong for The Revenant - attended with his beautiful wife, Maria Eladia Hagerman.
Trumping any engagement announcement we've ever seen, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Jason Statham looked very loved up on the red carpet.
Presenter America Ferrera - wearing yellow Jenny Packham - took to the red carpet with Ryan Piers Williams. The couple have been together ever since Ryan cast her in a film back in their University days.
Melissa and Blake - who starred together in Glee - looked picture perfect while posing for the photographers on the red carpet.
Comedy duo, Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone made their way down the red carpet together.
The Veep star and her husband wore matching black on the red carpet for the 73rd annual Golden Globe awards.
Bryan Cranston - who was nominated for the best actor award for his role in Trumbo - wore all black for the red carpet with his wife, Robin Dearden.
Patricia Arquette wore a Paule Ka dress, alongside beau Eric White.
Cate Blanchett wowed in Givenchy next to her husband, Andrew Upton.
The newly engaged Chris Tucker took his fiancée Cynne Simpson as his plus one to the event.

One of the coolest indie couples around, Paul Dano and Zoe Kazan attended the night together.
Steve and Nancy Carell took to the red carpet together before the awards ceremony.
Host Ricky Gervais bought along his long-term love Jane Fallon as support for the event. We wonder if he tested his gags on her before the night...
David Oyelowo - wearing a very snazzy purple suit - and his wife, Jessica looked cute for the cameras on the night.
Han Solo, ahem, Harrison Ford and his wife, Calista Flockhart looked as in love as ever throughout the event. May the force be with them...
Hollywood superstar couple, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith were definitely one of the coolest couples of the red carpet. Shame they didn't bring Willow and Jaden, though.
The most surprising couple award still goes to Jerry Hall and Rupert Murdoch who made an appearance on the red carpet last night. Someone give us an insight into this one!
While we may not be big on PDA, Kate Bosworth and her director husband, Michael Polish looked sweet and in love while sharing a tender moment in front of the waiting paps.
Emmy Rossum supported her fiancé, Sam Esmail whose show, Mr Robot won Best TV Show.
Presenter and previous Golden Globe winner, J.K. Simmons attended the awards with his wife, Michelle Schumacher.
Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy winner, Matt Damon attended with wife, Luciana Barroso.
Dream team, Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudekis took to the red carpet together last night (minus, tot Otis). Were trainers on the dress code, Jason?
Mark Ruffalo attended with his wife Sunrise Coigney who wore a stunning beaded gown.
The same night Gaga was snapped here with beau Taylor Kinney, she also won a Golden Globe - no wonder she looked so blissfully happy. Taylor popped the question on Valentine's Day 2015 and we already know that their wedding will be a monster-celebration.
Rob Lowe showed his romantic side on the night by posting a picture of himself with wife, Sheryl Berkoff with the caption 'Always a winner with this Golden Girl' on Twitter.
Comedy power couple, Leslie Mann and husband, Judd Apatow made their way down the red carpet together before posing for this cute snap.
Winner of the Best Supporting Actor gong, Sylvester Stallone made his way down the red carpet with not just his beautiful wife, Jennifer but his entire family. Cute.
