Our favourite A-listers on why, if you've got the right to vote in the closest election of all time, you need to back Hillary…

The long-awaited US election is right around the corner, (8th November for those of you too afraid to keep count), and with its run up dividing not just the US but the whole world, high profile figures from all over are seizing the moment to make their stances known.

Hillary Clinton has an army of loyal supporters and for good reason – aside from the fact that she'd be the first female president and is most highly qualified for the role based on decades of political experience, there's also the fact that she is not Donald Trump.

We give you 23 celebrities who are wearing their ‘I’m With Her’ badges with pride…

1. Scarlett Johansson ‘Hillary is the right candidate for right now. I think she’s got a lot of integrity. She’s got a lot of stamina. She’s a very clever politician, and that’s important to me.’

2. Salma Hayek ‘We need somebody with experience who can endure and this woman has endured it all. Hillary is tough.’

3. Natalie Portman ‘Hillary Clinton is such a formidable candidate. I think we’re lucky to have someone as smart and capable and strong as she is wanting to be our president.’

4. America Ferrara ‘Hillary has spent the last 30 years proving what she sees in us. Not our color, gender, or economic status, but our capacity to grow into thriving adults able to contribute great things to this country.’

5. Robert De Niro ‘I think that she's paid her dues. There are going to be no surprises, and she has earned the right to be president and the head of the country at this point. It's that simple. And she's a woman, which is very important because her take on things may be what we need right now.’

6. Sophia Bush ‘Hillary Clinton is the most experienced candidate to ever run.’

7. Meryl Streep ‘What does it take to be the first female anything? It takes grit, and it takes grace. These women share something in common: capacity of mind, fullness of heart and a burning passion for their cause. They have forged new paths so that others can follow them, men and women, generation on generation. That's Hillary.’

8. Adele ‘I can't vote but I am 100% for Hillary Clinton.’

9. Julia Roberts ‘Hillary Clinton has become a personal hero to me — who she is and her convictions as a woman and mother and a humanitarian.’

10. Elizabeth Banks ‘Hillary Clinton rocked my world: A smart, committed, successful woman. And not for her own benefit, but a fighter for women and children, cops and first-responders, health care and girls around the world.’

11. Sigourney Weaver ‘Hillary Clinton gets it. She cares. She's committed. She understands that taking a stand against climate change is not about politics. It's about our moral obligation to one another, to our children, and to the generations that will one day inherit this earth.’

12. Lady Gaga ‘Nothing can keep a strong woman down. Vote for the first female U.S. president in history. Shake it up America, this country needs a little rock n' roll.’

13. Demi Lovato ‘I stand here today as proof that you can live a normal and empowered life with mental illness. I'm proud to support a presidential candidate who will fight to ensure all people living with mental health conditions can get the care they need to lead fulfilling lives. That candidate is Hillary Clinton.’

14. Maggie Gyllenhal 'I think it would be incredible to have a woman as president. You know, I think my children grew up with a black man as president and that's what they know as the President of the United States and I would love my children to have the same experience as a woman. I've felt very inspired in little small moments in my life by Clinton.'

15. Blake Lively ‘Look at what is happening with Hillary Clinton, it's something to be very proud of. It's so uplifting. But the fact that we have to be proud of this advancement is a bit upsetting. I think whatever side you stand on, the fact that there's never been a woman leading this country where there are women leading households and leading companies, is a bit upsetting. What makes people think a man is more equipped to do that than a woman? Nothing.’

16. Amy Schumer ‘I've always been a fan. She was a good audience member — she commented on a couple of the jokes I told. I said that in L.A. my arms register as legs, and she really liked that. She was, "I can relate."'

17. George Clooney ‘In all of this clutter, there's been one consistent voice. A voice of tolerance and experience from a candidate who's spent a lifetime fighting for the rights of those less fortunate.’

18. Katy Perry ‘So much change can happen. Let's go Hillary!’

20. Barack Obama ‘Look, I know how hard this job can be - that's why I know Hillary will be so good at it. In fact, I don't think there's ever been someone so qualified to hold this office. She's got the courage, the compassion and the heart to get the job done.’

21. Heidi Klum ‘Let’s just say I hope the best woman wins.’
