Summer in a dress

We’ve got to hand it to Katy Perry, she does love to make a statement with her outfits. First there was that heartbreaking One Love Manchester tribute dress, and now her latest dress is also making waves.

Katy has teamed up with Calvin Harris for a new music video, in which she wears the Gucci dress of dreams.

It’s a bold one-shouldered yellow number, with a giant daffodil at the waist, and a pretty purple floral pattern throughout. It’s basically summer in a dress. Oh, and it’s by Gucci.

Which is pretty fitting really, considering the song, Feels, is all about summer love. Or love in general. But the video itself sees Katy, Pharell and Sean Harris chilling on an island, so we’re calling it summer love.

The dress is by Gucci (who else?) and you can buy it on Net-A-Porter if you want to emulate Katy’s style (and Emma Stone’s, as she wore it to an awards party in LA.

Going the extra step, Katy matched her hair and makeup to her dress, and accessorised with a 45.56-carat diamond choker by Doula. As you do.

Penny grew up in France and studied languages and law at the Sorbonne Nouvelle University in Paris before moving to the UK for her MA in multimedia journalism at Bournemouth University. She moved to the UK permanently and has never looked back (though she does go back regularly to stock up on cheese and wine).

Although she's always loved fashion - she used to create scrapbooks of her favourite trends and looks, including Sienna Miller and Kate Moss' boho phase - her first job was at MoneySavingExpert.com, sourcing the best deals for everything from restaurants to designer sales.

However she quit after two years to follow her true passion, fashion journalism, and after many years of internships and freelance stints at magazines including Red, Cosmopolitan, Stylist and Good Housekeeping, landed her dream job as the Digital Fashion Editor at Marie Claire UK.

Her favourite part of the job is discovering new brands and meeting designers, and travelling the world to attend events and fashion shows. Seeing her first Chanel runway IRL at Paris Fashion Week was a true pinch-me moment.
