CBS have issued strict wardrobe guidelines for celebrities attending the Grammy Awards, insisting 'breasts and buttocks are covered'

The Grammy Awards are often opportunity for the likes of Rihanna, Taylor Swift and Katy Perry to parade their amazing figures and fierce fashion sense to the masses. Not so at this year's event, where they'll have to be cautious not to flash too much flesh.

    THE GRAMMY AWARDS 2012

According to an email reportedly sent by CBS, the network who will broadcast the Grammy Awards, all skimpy costumes have been banned. The main focus points of the email were to request buttocks weren’t on show and no part of the breasts would be exposed.

The recent red carpet trend for sheer fabrics was also highlighted and told to be ‘avoided’, while any brand names or logos were also ruled out.

The guidelines apply to both stars performing on stage, ‘thong type costumes are problematic’ the email reads, and also to those in the audience.

Date: February 5, 2013, 10:39:56 PM EST Subject: 55th GRAMMYS: Standard And Practice Wardrobe Advisory -kindly confirm receipt of s&p standards- ***GRAMMYS 2013*** CBS Program Practices advises that all talent appearing on camera please adhere to Network policy concerning wardrobe.

Please be sure that buttocks and female breasts are adequately covered. Thong type costumes are problematic. Please avoid exposing bare flesh under curves of the buttocks and buttock crack. Bare sides or under curvature of the breasts is also problematic.

Please avoid sheer see-through clothing that could possibly expose female breast nipples. Please be sure the genital region is adequately covered so that there is no visible “puffy” bare skin exposure. Please avoid commercial identification of actual brand name products on T-shirts. Foreign language on wardrobe will need to be cleared.

OBSCENITY OR PARTIALLY SEEN OBSCENITY ON WARDROBE IS UNACCEPTABLE FOR BROADCAST. This as well, pertains to audience members that appear on camera. Finally, The Network requests that any organized cause visibly spelled out on talent’s wardrobe be avoided. This would include lapel pins or any other form of accessory.

We wonder if any star will break the styling rules….

What do you think of the Grammy Awards dress code? Do you think it’s a little strict? Or are CBS right to impose these? Have your say below.
