Lindsay Lohan will play Elizabeth Taylor in small screen movie Liz and Dick, it has been revealed.
After months of rumours it has finally been confirmed the troubled starlet has landed the prestigious role - so could Lindsay really be making a comeback?
After being discharged from probation, it seems the 25-year-old mean girls star is trying to clean up her act, revealing she's 'honoured' to land a part in the made-for-TV film, which will chart the tempestuous romance between one of Hollywood's most notorious couples.
'I have always admired and had enormous respect for Elizabeth Taylor,' Lindsay told the Mailonline of her newest alter-ego.
'She was not only an incredible actress but an amazing woman as well. I am very honored to have been asked to play this role.'
And it seems execs are equally as excited. 'We are thrilled Lindsay will portray beloved Hollywood legend Elizabeth Taylor,' Rob Sharenow, Executive Vice President, Programming, of Lifetime Networks revealed.
'She is one of the rare actresses who possesses the talent, beauty and intrigue to capture the spirit of such a provocative icon.'
Reports suggest the project is set to be produced by Larry Thompson and is being written by Christopher Monger.
