The new season Zara dress everyone is talking about right now
If you’re going to invest in one piece…
If you’re going to invest in one piece…
Not one to be outdone by ASOS’ visual search tool making finding the perfect outfit a piece of cake, or Topshop presenting us with its most popular bag, Zara has come up with the must-have dress for the new season, and everyone’s talking about it.
If you want to know what shoppers are fighting over, you basically just need to look at the ‘Trending Now’ section on Zara (and here are our Zara shopping hacks ICYMI).
The dress that caught our eye is an embroidered velvet number in midnight blue, embroidered with a colourful floral motif.

And if you're not ready to hang up your peasant blouse just yet, it’s the perfect way to transition this summer’s bohemian trend into autumn/winter. You can wear it now with flat leather sandals, and switch them up for boots when it gets colder.
If you want a look that's totally current, try colourful skintight ankle boots, but if that's not up your street, then black suede ankle boots or brogues will work well for a more understated look.

Penny Goldstone is the Digital Fashion Editor at Marie Claire, covering everything from catwalk trends to royal fashion and the latest high street and Instagram must-haves.
Penny grew up in France and studied languages and law at the Sorbonne Nouvelle University in Paris before moving to the UK for her MA in multimedia journalism at Bournemouth University. She moved to the UK permanently and has never looked back (though she does go back regularly to stock up on cheese and wine).
Although she's always loved fashion - she used to create scrapbooks of her favourite trends and looks, including Sienna Miller and Kate Moss' boho phase - her first job was at MoneySavingExpert.com, sourcing the best deals for everything from restaurants to designer sales.
However she quit after two years to follow her true passion, fashion journalism, and after many years of internships and freelance stints at magazines including Red, Cosmopolitan, Stylist and Good Housekeeping, landed her dream job as the Digital Fashion Editor at Marie Claire UK.
Her favourite part of the job is discovering new brands and meeting designers, and travelling the world to attend events and fashion shows. Seeing her first Chanel runway IRL at Paris Fashion Week was a true pinch-me moment.
