Snap up a fashion bargain while helping women in war torn countries…
Few can resist a rummage through car boot sale, and when it contains the contents of some of London’s chicest wardrobes, with proceeds to an extremely good cause, a visit becomes imperative.
This Saturday, fashion’s moist admired designers, stylists and muses are having a wardrobe clear out, and rather amazingly, are selling their wares at a car boot sale.
But this is no ordinary booty.
Featuring the cast-offs of Alice Temperley, Laura Bailey, Charlotte Olympia, Cath Kidston and many more, the #SheInspiresMe car boot will be held in Soho’s Brewer Street car park, otherwise known as the home of London Fashion Week. What’s more, Charlotte Tilbury and Braid Bar will be on hand offering beauty tips and makeovers while Bip Ling DJs and The Store Kitchen of Soho House Berlin serves up delicious fresh food and smoothies. Sounds like a pretty sweet Saturday to us.
And proof, were it needed, that this is an essential part of any weekend plans, we’ve been given a sneak peek of some of the items on sale and in the highly sought-after tombola we can (reluctantly) tell you there’s everything from L.K. Bennett jackets to The Row handbags aka the bags that cost upwards of £1,500.
The proceeds of #SheInspiresMe will go to the invaluable work of the charity Women for Women who support women survivors of conflict – most prominently they’re programme in Iraq to support displaced Syrian and Iraqi women affected by the conflict and instability.
Speaking of her involvement, Alice Temperely commented, "I am happy to help and support in any way, to make life changing differences to women around the world whose situation is often unimaginable to the western world."
