US lingerie brand Victoria's Secret has pushed back the opening of its first UK shops

Don't dust off those angel wings just yet! Lingerie brand Victoria's Secret has announced that is has postponed the opening of its first UK stores.

The US firm had planned to launch two shops in London – a flagship on New Bond Street and another store in the Westfield shopping centre in Stratford – to coincide with the opening ceremony of the Olympics on Friday 27th July, before considering a rollout across Britain.

However, the hugely popular brand has confirmed that the stores will not be ready in time. Boo! No new opening date has been revealed, but it definitely won't happen in July.

Victoria’s Secret is one of the most popular lingerie brands in the States and always appears at the top of the must-visit shops list when tourists visit the US. This is largely thanks to its theatrical catwalk shows, where the world’s hottest models – the Angels – strut their stuff in the store’s underwear and huge feathered angel wings.

Miranda Kerr, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Gisele Bundchen and Adriana Lima are just some of the beauties who have modelled for Victoria’s Secret.
