Sarah Burton’s latest show only served to fuel those rumours that Kate Middleton could well be saying her vows in a McQueen wedding gown…
We’ve all been trying to second guess which designer Kate Middleton will turn to for that gown of gowns, but Sarah Burton’s latest collection only served to fuel those rumours that the royal bride could well be walking down the aisle in a McQueen wedding dress…
The whispers began last week – with the Sunday Times reporting that Sarah’s designs were a hot favourite with Kate.
According to the paper, the bride-to-be has had her heart set on an Alexander McQueen wedding dress ever since she saw friend Sara Buys marry Tom Parker Bowles in an ivory strapless gown by the British fashion house, back in 2005.
So while last season saw Sarah Burton’s debut collection for the eponymous brand under severe scrutiny – but for a very different reason – all eyes were once again fixed firmly on the McQueen catwalk last night.
And fuel those wedding rumours she did…
The Autumn/Winter 2011 collection featured a selection of stunning bridal-inspired gowns with dramatic tulle trains, stunning embellished bodices and form-celebrating sculpted sillhouettes – the kind of exquisite attention to detail more than befitting a princess.
We can’t think of a better way to champion emerging British talent, while paying tribute to the late designer himself.
