Couture Fashion week has kicked off in Paris and it's certainly brightening up our January. From frothy gowns to fabulous front rows, it never fails to disappoint. Known for its total Instabait settings not to mention clothing and accessories that have everyone double tapping, Chanel today showed its latest collection for couture spring 2018. From Kaia Gerber to Perspex booties, here's everything we loved...

1. The horticultural setting....

We've had a giant Chanel embossed rocket ship, a custom-built replica of the Eiffel Tower, but today Karl Lagerfeld decided to back to nature with a garden inspired setting at the Grand Palais in Paris. Now of course being Chanel, this wasn't your average suburban back garden. Instead, there was the most immaculate groomed lawn, moss urns, a fully functional fountain, rows and rows of flowering trellises and approximately 10,000 lEnglish garden roses. Did we mention they were real not fake? Now, even Alan Titchmarsh would be impressed by that.

2. The frow...

The front row at any Chanel show is always eclectic and today's spring 2018 couture frow was no different. Marion Cotillard, Isabel Huppert, Ellie Bamber, Alice Dellal were all out in force to support King Karl. Plus Rita Ora who posed in a Chanel hooded tweed dress that she paired with a Chanel bumbag and trainers. Trainers at Chanel Couture? How 2018.

3. It was third time lucky for Kaia Gerber...

She opened both Chanel's Pre-fall and spring 2018 collections, but today, 16-year old Kaia Gerber made her couture debut, when she stepped onto the runway at the Grand Palais. Wearing a millennial pink coloured feather and beaded dress with matching boots, we guess it's not a bad way to kick start the year.

4. The sugar sweet colour palette....

Although Karl Lagerfeld has claimed he never touches sugar, when it comes to his spring 2018 couture collection, it is totally saccharine. From rose and violet creams to lemon and mint bon bons to parma violets and even Crème caramel, this is not a colour palette for the more the savoury inclined.

5. These boots were made for walking...

Following on from our obsession with those sparkly Chanel boots, Karl showed for in his main spring summer 2018 collection comes his latest offering in tweed or patent leather with Perspex heels. Ok, so the tufty tweed versions may not be so practical for the British weather, but let's not forget your average Chanel couture customer is unlikely to be jumping on the tube anytime soon.

6. The Insta/Snapchat filter-esque headpieces...

Accessorizing every look was a flower topped veil, that fell in front of the face. Embellished with tiny crystals, it was like the most flattering filter on Insta/Snapchat but IRL.

7. The finale...

Rather than the traditional frothy gown, the final look featured a white suit with a dramatic feathered coat and matching white leather boots. Karl's godson Hudson Kroenig accompanied the very 2018 looking bride down the runway, throwing rose petals from a basket.
