Boden and the British Fashion Council celebrated London Fashion Week’s future stars last night, with a ‘Future British’ party at Soho's The Union Club.
This year’s three prize winners, IT-knitwear designer Caitlin Charles-Jones, quirky shoe designer Camilla Elphick and Samantha McCoach of Le Kilt, partied with Yasmin Le Bon, Jodie Kidd, Caroline Issa and more of LFW’s style influencers into the early hours of the second day of Fashion Week. Gizzi Erskine and Lou Stoppard were on the decks as fish and chip canapés circulated.
The first ever recipients of the bursary, the designers will each receive financial support plus mentoring from four industry leaders - Boden Chairman Johnnie Boden, CEO Julian Granville, Product Director Matthew Hilgeman and Global Brand Director Penny Herriman.
‘It is so exciting to see our programme get underway, and we are already starting to see the positive impact it’s having on our first three designers, Johnnie Boden said. ‘I am looking forward to working with them and seeing them flourish this year.’
‘The British Fashion Council are extremely proud to support Boden’s Future British initiative,’ added BFC chairman Caroline Rush. ‘ Providing yet another avenue of financial support and mentoring to the incredible talent right here in London, Johnnie Boden and his team are the latest industry heavyweights to recognise the importance of nurturing young fashion businesses.’
