The reason behind Robert Pattinson’s recent trip to New York has been revealed

Robert Pattinson jetted off to New York last weekend in a cloud of mystery, he was seen flying solo leaving girlfriend Kristen Stewart behind in LA with the purpose of his trip unknown, that is of course until now.

It’s believed the British star was in the city for a clandestine meeting with Carey Mulligan about an upcoming film. Lainey Gossip report the British duo both met with producers to discuss working on Hold On To Me.

The online publication claim both stars were in New York at the same time and that Robert Pattinson also had meetings about the project and he’s officially confirmed for the role .

The film’s plot circulates around the true story of Nancy whose big-city dreams fold so in order to make money she kidnaps the city’s richest man with the help of her boyfriend. But after carrying out the crime things go awry.

Hold On To Me will be a move into the thriller genre for Robert Pattinson where he’ll take on the role of Jimmy who is the high school sweetheart of Nancy (played by Carey Mulligan) the man she can’t get over.

Sounds like ideal casting to us.
