Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have reportedly gone their separate ways, after a 'tense' few weeks

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have split again, just months after reuniting, according to new reports.

Insiders say the Twilight couple have gone their separate ways after Rob called off their relationship over the weekend.

Rumour has it Kristen Stewart jetted into LA to attend the Golden Globes as Robert Pattinson's date.

But just hours later, Rob is said to have told her they'd be better of as friends, and walked the red carpet alone.

'She flew to LA and was supposed to be Rob’s date for the Golden Globes, but he told her he wants to cool it off,' a source told the Sun.

Revealing the reason behind the split, the insider added: 'He loves her but would rather go back to being good friends so they can rebuild their trust and focus on work after Twilight.

'Kristen’s upset but understands. She shouldn’t have pushed him to reconcile after her infidelity. She’s hoping he’ll come round and time will be a great healer.'

Rob and Kristen first split in July 2012, after Kristen Stewart had an affair with married Snow White director Rupert Sanders.

While Robert Pattinson went to ground, hiding out at Reese Witherspoon's Ojai ranch, Kristen Stewart issued a grovelling apology, finally convincing the actor to take her back.

Now reports reveal Rob's family and friends weren't entirely happy with their decision to reunite, and have put pressure on the star to ditch Kristen.

The source added: 'He was getting so much pressure to ditch her. His friends told him to focus on his career and said she was wrecking his chances.'

While Robert Pattinson will remain at his sprawling Los Angeles home, it's thought Kristen Stewart could make a clean break and move to New York.

An insider said: 'She feels people leave her alone there and she has a bit more peace.'
