The Cambridges are one of the most talked-about families in the world, but while the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge spend the most time in front of the cameras, it’s their children that really steal the limelight.

From Prince George’s cheeky grin to Prince Louis’ royal wave, these toddlers never fail to make news. But it was the public favourite, Princess Charlotte, who got everyone talking this week.

Charlotte (HRH Queen of sass) has made non-stop headlines this summer, from her first day of school to that hilarious viral video of her sticking her tongue out at photographers.

This week however it was a photograph that made Princess Charlotte a conversation topic, and while people originally thought that the person in the snap was the miniature royal, it has emerged that it was actually her doppelgänger, Kitty Spencer.

Kitty, the 28-year-old niece of Princess Diana posted a throwback snap of her 1992 self riding a horse, a picture which has divided the public.

While some have insisted that Charlotte and young Kitty simply look related as you would expect, others cannot believe the striking similarities, taking to social media to voice their shock.

'It's truly Spencer genes,' posted one reader, while another wrote: 'They are identical!'

Royals! They're just like us.
