When the stars celebrate a birthday, it's usually a BIG event, with presents, a cake, and a host of celebrity pals. And we expected nothing less from Rihanna. So we must admit we were surprised, when series of snaps of her low-key birthday celebrations were posted to Instagram.
It seems the party-loving songstress saw in her 25th year with a gaggle of pals, boyfriend Chris Brown and a handfull of family at an intimate birthday bash.

After debuting her first River Island collection at London Fashion Week, Rhi jetted off to the Island of Oahu, Hawaii, for a birthday break, and some much needed R&R.
During her stay, the starlet has been spied cosying up to her beau Chris Brown on the beach, and holding hands as they enjoy romantic walks.
But she couldn't let her birthday go unnoticed.
Rihanna invited her family and closest pals to celebrate with her - and then posted a series of party pictures to Instagram.
The photos show the birthday girl canoodling with Chris Brown, striking a pose with pals, and tucking into a giant birthday cake.
Hours before, the singer had posted a picture of herself sitting on Chris Brown's lap in a camper van, with the caption: 'Pour it up pour it up! #birthdaybehavior,' Rhi wrote beside the picture on Instagram.
