Actress Penelope Cruz is expecting her second child with husband Javier Bardem
Penelope Cruz has confirmed speculation that she and husband Javier Bardem are expecting their second child.
Revealing the news via her publicist, pregnant Cruz said she was ‘extremely happy and very excited’ to welcome her second child with Skyfall actor hubby Javier.
The stunning 38-year-old actress confirmed she is expecting her second bundle of joy, to explain her decision to not travel to Spain for an awards show on February 17.
Cruz, who is nominated for Best Leading Actress at the Spanish Goya awards, wouldn’t be able to take the long haul flight because of her condition, her publicist Javier Giner told broadcaster RTVE.
Penelope and husband Javier Bardem started dating in 2007 before tying the knot at an intimate ceremony in 2010. They welcomed their first child, son Leo Encinas Bardem, in 2011.
Speaking after the birth of her first child, Penelope revealed how motherhood had transformed her life: ‘From the first second, you feel so much love. It is a revolutionary experience.
‘That’s the best way I can describe it. It transforms you completely, in a second. Nature is very wise and gives you nine months to prepare, but in that moment, when you see that face, you are transformed forever.’
And it seems Cruz will be in good company during her pregnancy as just last week it was revealed that her sister Monica Cruz is also expecting after she used a sperm donor.
Congratulations to the Cruz’s!
